# tap.runtime.config - Debug flag

To enable debugging in TAP Studio, a property has to be changed in the TAP.runtime.exe.config file located in the directory where TAP Studio is installed.

Open said file with a text editor, look for -> key="debugEnabled" and change its value to true.

## Enabling this property allows the following things to happen:

1\) If an exception is thrown during the robot execution, it will output the contents with the exception to a dedicated log file within the bot solution directory.

2\) If an exception is thrown during the robot execution, it will take a screenshot at the time of the error. The location of the screenshot is in the bot's solution directory in a PNG format.
